Based in Manchester, the heart of the North West’s TV and film industry, we’ve been creating stunning effects since 1994. We’ve worked on a wide range of productions for a variety of production companies, and we’re BBC and ITV approved suppliers. Our creds list includes the following:

Blowing stuff up can be a dangerous business, but with Quicksilver you’re in safe hands. We’re members of the CBI Explosive Industry Group and hold all the necessary licences to acquire, store, transport and use pyrotechnics, explosives, and other hazardous materials.

As well as our film SFX work, we currently carry out training, consultancy and storage/disposal of pyrotechnics, fireworks & explosives for a number of UK Police forces and Fire Services. Part of this includes lending our input on courses at the National Fire Service College (Moreton in Marsh).

At Quicksilver we deliver safe and reliable effects, on time and on budget.

We maintain a large stock of equipment and consumables in our special effects workshop and stores. This allows us to deliver a huge variety of effects at very short notice. We’ve provided effects ranging from bullet hits to fireworks with less than three hours from phone call to being available on location.
